Regular Council Meeting – January 24, 2023
CORRESPONDENCE
- Rhonda Wasson made a request to hold a Grad Parade on June 19, 2023. The request was made on behalf of the parents of the Riverview High School 2023 graduates.
PRESENTATIONS AND DELEGATIONS
- Presentation by Chief Robin True – Tri-Community Emergency Response Plan. Council passed a motion to approve the plan at the next Regular Council Meeting (RCM).
EXTERNAL REPORTS
- Building and Planning – Development activity report (including year-to-date numbers) and the Building Permit Report for December 2022 were shared.
- Codiac RCMP shared activity reports for the tri-communities for December 2022
INTERNAL REPORTS
- All departments shared their reports for December 2022 and January 2023
- CAO Colin Smith provided Council with an end-of-year report on the Strategic Plan
- Riverview will conduct a Housing Needs Assessment in 2023. This project is now in the RFP stage of the process, which closes on February 16.
- Riverview will also undergo a Market Threshold Analysis early this year. The report is expected to be presented to Council in the second quarter of this year.
OTHER BUSINESS
- Review of 2023 Annual Operational Grants – Council reviewed grant requests from community organizations. Awarded grants will be announced once approved at the next RCM on February 13, 2023.
- Proposed local improvements 2023 – Letters have gone out to residents who will be affected by local improvement projects this year. Streets that will see upgrades are
- Birkdale Drive, Darwin Drive, Elmore Court, Inwood Court and Windsor Street. The public notice can be found here.
- Committee Appointments – Mayor LeBlanc appointed Nick Cormier to represent Riverview on the Trans Aqua Board as well as approved the reappointment of Patrick Grew to the Greater Moncton International Airport Authority Board, effective May 2023.
