CORRESPONDENCE 

  • Council received a request to amend the noise By-Law from Steven Acker.  

PETITIONS, PRESENTATIONS, & DELEGATIONS 

  • External Budget Presentations 
    • Presentation on YOU Turns from Chelsey Gray, Provincial Strategic Coordinator Manager. 
    • Presentation on the Capitol Theatre Budget from Kim Rayworth, Managing Director.  
  • Presentation by Jenna Stewart, Planner, Plan 360 on the proposed rezoning of Stonehouse & Danbury Street (PID 05114668) from R1 (Single Unit) to RM (Residential Mix) to allow construction of semi-detached dwellings.

  • All departments shared their reports for the months of June, July, August, and September 2024.  

Other Business 

  • Council recommended to award the following grants
  • Hospice SENB – Memorial Walk that took place on September 15, 2024 in the amount of $500 
  • The Indo-Canada Association of Greater Moncton – Diwali Festival taking place on November 2, 2024, in the amount of $1000 
  • NB Crime Stoppers in the amount of $500 
  • Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce Excellence Awards taking place October 10, 2024, in the amount of $1000 
  • The Committee of the Whole were provided with a Mid-Year Status Update on the Town’s Strategic Plan. 
  • The Committee of the Whole recommended to adopt the updated policy #01-1000-01 – Flying of Flags.  

Council Statements & Inquiries 

  • Councillor Cassista shared that all are welcome to attend the International Day of Older Persons events on Tuesday, October 1, where there will be a flag raising ceremony at Town Hall at 11 a.m.  

 

Next Meeting 

Council next meets for a Public Hearing on Tuesday, October 15 at 6:30 p.m., immediately followed by the Regular Council Meeting. The meeting will be live-streamed on our website, and the agenda for the meeting will be available the Thursday prior to the meeting on the Town of Riverview Council Meetings webpage. Council will also welcome the Codiac RCMP for an upcoming Town Hall session to address public safety concerns in Riverview. The public is invited to attend this session on October 17 at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers or tune in to the live stream. More details to come.
