Quyen Trinh, otherwise known as Ruby, has dreamed about opening her own nail salon for years. She moved to Toronto from Vietnam eight years ago with her husband and sons.

“I was excited to move to Canada, as this is where my husband is from. But Toronto was so busy and noisy, and the peace and quiet of New Brunswick has been wonderful,” said Ruby.

Having worked as a nail technician for eight years, Ruby developed a love for transforming nails and creating beautiful art that people carry with them for weeks afterwards. Acrylic nails are a particular favourite service provided by Q Nails, and with over 1000 nail polish colours to choose from, there is no shortage of creativity that can be brought to life for Ruby’s clients. Conveniently located at 121 Pine Glen Road, Unit 3, Ruby is overjoyed to now have her own space to do what she loves.

“I was working at another salon in Moncton and so many of my clients talked about Riverview,” says Ruby. “Building that customer base brought me to Riverview, and I love it here. It is a dream come true to be able to provide this service closer to home for many of my clients and I am excited to meet more people who are looking for affordable, convenient nail care, and pampering.”

A true family-run business, Ruby’s son Aiden is working alongside her as she embarks on opening her own business. Already trained and experienced from his work in Toronto, Aiden is currently working on completing his New Brunswick certification to provide top-tier nail care to Q Nails clientele.

“I am so excited to be working with my Mom. She has been wanting to open a nail salon here for two years and I love seeing her dream come to life,” says Aiden. “This business is really like another child to her, as she is doing what she loves in the perfect location.”

In addition to acrylic nails and nail art, Q Nails offers gel, shellac, regular polish, and non-polish manicures and pedicures, as well as kid-friendly services. They are celebrating their grand opening on Saturday, April 12 at 2 p.m., with a ribbon cutting with the mayor, treats, and vouchers. All are welcome to come explore their new space.

Be sure to follow Q Nails on Facebook and Instagram to see their services, browse some of Ruby’s work, and book your appointment.
