Lifeguards, Swim Instructors, and/or Daytime Lifeguards

Job Summary: 

The Town of Riverview is hiring Lifeguards, Swim Instructors, and Daytime Lifeguards at the Pat Crossman Memorial Aquatic Centre starting in September. 

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality swim instruction
• Ensure a safe pool environment
• Plan and teach swimming lessons
• Enforce safety regulations
• Respond to emergencies

Qualifications:

• Valid National Lifeguard certification through the Lifesaving Society OR a valid Bronze Cross certification. *Offers pending until National Lifeguard certification is received. 
  • Candidates with Red Cross certifications (Water Safety Instructor and Red Cross Guard) will need to participate in a Lifesaving Society transfer clinic upon hire. 
• Swim Instructor certification is preferred but not required.
• Must be 15 years of age or older.
• Desire to educate the public on water safety and swimming techniques.
• Ability to work effectively with swimmers of all levels.
• Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
• Ability to connect with patrons and create a welcoming, positive environment.
• Team player with a positive attitude.

Hours and Rate of Pay:

Part-time or full-time positions available, with day, evening, and weekend shifts.

• Lifeguard: $16.60 - $17.34 per hour
• Swim Instructor: $18.14 - $18.90 per hour
• Daytime Lifeguard: $20.15 - $21.02 per hour
