ADOPTION OF THE MINUTES

  • Regular Council Meeting – January 13, 2025
  • Committee of the Whole Meeting – January 27, 2025

RECOMMENDATIONS FROM COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE

  • Council approved the Riverview Fire & Rescue Service Mandate.
  • Council approved the 2025 Annual Grant to Atlantic Wellness in the amount of $10,000.
  • Council approved the 2025 Annual Grant to the Greater Moncton Chorale in the amount of $1,000. 
  • Council approved the 2025 Annual Grant to the Riverview Lions Club in the amount of $3,000.
  • Council approved the 2025 Annual Grant Requests in the total amount of $74,575.
  • Council approved the January 2025 Grant recipients:
    • Moncton-Riverview Highland Dance Association in the amount of $500. 
    • NB Youth Orchestra in the amount of $1,500.
    • Atlantic Nationals Automotive Extravaganza in the amount of $4,500.
    • Frye Festival in the amount of $2,500.
    • Riverview Disc Golf Association in the amount of $2,000.

NEW BUSINESS

  • Council moved to award Tender 25-74 for a New Ten Ton Wheeled Excavator to Atlantic Coastal Equipment in the amount of $304,866 plus HST. 
  • Council moved to award Tender 25-85 for a new Remote-Controlled Mower to Atlantic Coastal Equipment in the amount of $134,972 plus HST. 

COUNCIL STATEMENTS & INQUIRIES

  • Mayor LeBlanc issued congratulations to the Parks & Recreation team for a successful 50th Winter Carnival. An incredible amount of work goes into this 10-day festival and the volunteers and community groups helped make this milestone year extra special. 
  • Council brought forward the desire for the Winter Carnival fireworks to take place during Canada Day as well. Director Shea clarified that the Canada Day fireworks are cost-shared with the tri-communities and each municipality rotates executing the request for proposal procurement process. 

 

NEXT MEETING 

There is an Open House planned for February 13, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at Town Hall for the 2025 Local Improvement Projects. Residents are asked to register in advance to attend this session by sending an email to clerk@townofriverview.ca by February 11.  If there are no registrations, the Open House will be cancelled. 

Council meets next on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 7 p.m. for a Committee of the Whole Meeting.
