I CAN SWIM Lessons - Updates

Our I Can Swim program was updated in 2023 to better meet your needs. Check out our Placement Chart to find the right level for your swimmer. Here is the list of general end goals per level

  • Tots Program: Our Tots Program is now tailored for different age groups. Tots A is for ages 4 months to 2 years, and Tots B is for ages 2 to 3.5 years.

  • Intro A and Intro B: After Tots, transition to Intro A and then Intro B, perfect for ages 3.5 to 5 years, where swimmers start mastering skills independently.

  • Intro 6+: New to swimming? Try our Intro 6+ course, designed for ages 6 to 14 to build strong foundational skills.

  • Swim Progression: Ages 5 to 14 can progress through I Can Swim 1 to 6, growing skills and confidence so they're safe around water and potential lifeguarding courses. For those 14 years or older, discover Youth or Adult lessons.

  • Hand in Hand Program: For swimmers needing extra support, our Hand in Hand program offers tailored assistance. Submit the form before registering, though standard fees apply and availability may vary.

Remember, Intro courses are recommended before I Can Swim Level 1.

The "Embracing Responsibility Scholarship" – Paving the Way for Lifeguards and Swim Instructors!

The Embracing Responsibility Scholarship was established by the Town of Riverview to recognize the contributions of Barb Hurlbut, who served as the former Aquatics Coordinator for over three decades.

Inspired by her enduring legacy of mentoring lifeguards and instilling the values of water safety, this scholarship aims to support the educational aspirations of lifeguards and swim instructors at the Pat Crossman Memorial Aquatic Center. Each year, it awards $2,000 to a deserving staff member who meets the eligibility criteria.

Open to all current lifeguards and swim instructors at the pool, the scholarship reflects our commitment to investing in the growth and success of our team members.
