Visiting Riverview

Our door is always open.

Our 20,000 friendly residents and business-owners love to say hello to visitors. Literally hello — with actual words, not just a nod. So if getting closer to nature is on your mind, add us to your itinerary. We’ve got the mighty Petitcodiac River on one side, the Acadian Forest around us, and countless trails and parks in between. Oh, and we throw a pretty good party too.

The tidal bore is anything but.

This’ll get your heart going. The tidal bore is an unbelievable phenomenon found in only a handful of geographical points worldwide. It occurs when an incoming tide enters a narrow stretch and travels against the current — creating an impressive standing wave. Seriously, you have to see it to believe it. And you can, from anywhere along the Riverview Trail, twice daily.

Moving To Riverview

Why don't you live here already?

The Town of Riverview is an unusually special place to live, work, and raise a family. Settle in amongst friendly neighbours, the beauty of wild New Brunswick, and a commitment to active living. Crime is practically non-existent, and the town makes major investments in parks, walking, biking and ski trails, and rec facilities. Yes, you can have it all.

Home Sweet Home

Riverview's sense of community and familiarity isn't going anywhere. Here, you can expect a balance of small-town values, while embracing change and development. The median monthly rent cost in Riverview is more competitive than the national average, and being within one of the fastest-growing census metropolitan areas in Canada, it's no surprise that when residents move here, they stay.

A great place to grow.

When people try to explain the rewarding, safe, and nurturing atmosphere of a place, they often say that it’s a great place “to raise children”. Great schools, dynamic programming, and a welcoming culture have earned Riverview more than a few of these comments. Of course, it’s not just kids and their parents who value the Riverview lifestyle.

Get out and explore.

We all know how important it is to live an active lifestyle. The Town of Riverview is literally set up to encourage just that. Safe streets are perfect for cycling. The town maintains 30 km of walking, running, and snowshoe trails. And the river and the forest that surround you are perfect for casual strolls.

About

Be jealous of our lifestyle. It's natural.

Riverview is a town of just 20,000. That’s pretty cozy. So we can’t take everyone — though we do try to be accommodating. Those who find a place for themselves, their family, or their business, well, they know how lucky they are. Here, a pristine environment, active lifestyle, commitment to sustainability, and urban proximity combine in an almost impossibly alluring way. Come to stay, or to visit. We’d love to have you.

We’re a town. Through and through.

What’s in a name? In a word, everything. A town has a casual, comfortable, familiar warmth of spirit. A town is defined by the down-to-earth values of helpfulness, care, and respect. A town is physically charming, and alive with the genuine humanity that can only come from really knowing your neighbours. A city? Sure, we’re close to a few. But we aren’t one. And we don’t plan to be.

Riverview is outside the city.

This is a place for people who appreciate the physical, mental, and spiritual value of being embraced by nature. Our community is bordered on three sides by the Acadian forest, and by the Petitcodiac River on our northern boundary. Here, large lots on streets lined with big old trees put you in the centre of untamed (but often groomed) wilderness — and still a stone’s throw from urban New Brunswick.

Low impact living.

Neither the town nor our residents pay lip service to the importance of sustainability. We quite literally walk the walk. Our people value a pristine environment, the ability to choose active transportation, and a rich future for their children. It’s why the town of Riverview has implemented — and updates — sustainability plans, programs, and celebrations. We hold ourselves to a high sustainability standard. Because there is no other choice.

Come on in. Take off your coat. Sit down and make yourself at home. Everyone in Riverview genuinely wants you — new residents, businesses, and visitors — to feel welcome. Yes, we’re ridiculously friendly. But that’s why being here feels as comfortable and warm as it does. Another cup?
