During the summer months, Riverview residents can register for the free Equipment Loan program and borrow a variety of fun games for one week at a time.
What equipment can you borrow? Great question!
- Baby Backpack: If you have a child up to 23kg that you'd like to take on a walk, hike or any light-moderate outing, carry them with you in our baby backpack
- Badminton: This comes with 4 badminton racquets, 2 shuttles and a rule sheet
- Bird Watching Kit: Use the Bird Identification and Tree Identification guides through our local parks this summer. This kit also includes binoculars, a compass and instructions on how to make a bird feeder
- Bocce Ball: This set comes with 8 colored balls, 1 pallino ball and a rule sheet
- Campfire Kit: Try making a campfire this summer using this kit. It includes: a matchbox, a lighter, 4 pieces of kindling, 1 Firestarter, 4 roasting sticks and a pie iron
- Connect 4: Play the large lawn version of Connect 4. This package includes the giant stand up game and enough pieces for two players
- Disc Golf Set: Try the very popular sport Disc Golf this summer. Using the various discs in the set, challenge a friend to the Claude D. Taylor course or try it at home. The frisbee-like discs include: a driver, a mid-range and a putting disc.
- Giant Jenga: Each Jenga set includes enough wooden blocks to create a large stack and game rules
- Pickleball: Try Pickleball this summer with 4 wooden racquets, 1 pickleball and the game rules
- Spikeball: Perfect for the beach or your backyard, Spikeball is a combination of four square and volleyball rules. Get 1 pre-assembled net, 1 spikeball and the game rules
- Washer Toss: This classic East Coast game in great for the beach or your back yard. Each kit comes with waster boxes, 3 red and 3 gray washers, and the game rules.
- Yardzee: Just like the board game, except for outdoors! This kit includes 1 metal bucket, 5 wooden dice, 1 dry erase marker and a laminated score sheet.
- Youth Bikes: A new addition to our Equipment Loan program are youth bikes, perfect if you want to test out different bike sizes for your youth or if they want to try learning how to ride a bike! This package comes with a youth-sized bike and a helmet.
Keep in mind, Equipment Loan items are available weekly, so if you miss out one week, try the next!
Requirements to Book Equipment Packages
- Must be a Town of Riverview resident.
- The address for delivery falls within town boundaries.
- Must have an account with the Town of Riverview through Active Network.
- Must be 18 years or older.
How Borrowing Equipment Works
- Equipment bookings are open one week in advance of the delivery date starting at 10 a.m.
- The deadline to book is Monday at 4 p.m. (2 days prior to delivery).
- Equipment deliveries are made to your home on Wednesdays between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. The items borrowed will be left at the front entrance to your home, so please take it inside as soon as you can.
- Equipment will be picked up on the following Tuesday. Please leave your equipment outdoors and in plain sight no later than 11 a.m. for our staff to pick up.
- All borrowed equipment gets picked up, checked over, sanitized, and ready to be loaned out again by Wednesday.
