Public Hearing

Riverview Town Council is considering amendments to the Zoning By-Law. The purpose of the proposed amendment (Zoning By-law 300-7-15) is to rezone the property on Cleveland Avenue bearing PID 05121330 from SC – Suburban Commercial CM – Commercial Mix for the purpose of two six-storey multi-unit residential buildings.

Recommendations from Committee of the Whole

  • Approval of the following grants:  
    • River of Pride in the amount of $1000  
    • Ukrainian Association of Moncton in the amount of $500  
    • Albert County Chamber of Commerce (Excellence Awards) in the amount of $1000
    • Moncton Cares in the amount of $1000
    • Tutta Musica Orchestra (NBYO Inc.). in the amount of $1000
  • Council passed a motion to begin Summer Council Hours, eliminating the Committee of the Whole meetings for the months of July and August, and changing the start time of the Regular Council Meetings for July and August to 4 p.m.

By-Laws

  • By-Law 300-7-15 (Cleveland Ave.) first reading, by title only, was passed
  • By-Law 300-33-7 (Future Roads Map) second reading, by section only, and third reading, by title only, was passed.  
  • By-Law 300-35-6, A By-Law relating to the stopping up & closing of highways within the Town of Riverview (Mitton Road), second reading by section only, and third reading by title only, was passed.  

New Business

  • A motion was passed to appoint Karyann Ostroski as the Town Clerk. Mayor LeBlanc and Council thanked outgoing Town Clerk Annette Crummey for her dedicated service to the Town of Riverview for the past 10 years and wishes her all the best in her retirement.  
  • Council passed a motion to approve the 2023 Annual Report.
  • Council elected Councillor-at-Large Stephen Gouzoules as Deputy Mayor for a one-year term.
