Public Hearing
Prior to the Regular Council Meeting, Riverview Town Council considered a proposed rezoning to a portion of property on Coverdale Road bearing PID 00645754 from RA (Rural Area) to MD (Manufactured Dwelling) for the purpose of a manufactured dwelling community.

CORRESPONDENCE
- Council accepted a letter of resignation from Ward I Councillor Sarah Murphy.
- Council received a notice of decision from the Planning Advisory Committee to rezone a portion of property on Coverdale Road (PID 00645754) from RA (Rural Area) to MD (Manufactured Dwelling).
- Council received information from Karla McLean of the Rotary Club of Moncton West & Riverview on raising public awareness of World Polio Day, October 24, 2024.

- External Budget Presentations
- Presentation by Lynda Carey, Executive Director of BGC Riverview.

RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE
- Council passed a resolution to set the date for a Public Hearing for Stonehouse & Danbury Street (PID 05117668) from R1 to RM.
- Council approved the recommendation to award the following grants:
- Hospice Memorial Walk in the amount of $500
- Diwali Festival in the amount of $1,000
- NB Crime Stoppers in the amount of $500
- CCGM Business Excellence Awards in the amount of $1,000
- Council approved the recommendation to update the flag policy
BY-LAWS
- Council passed the first reading, by title only, of By-Law 300-7-17 – the by-law related to the public hearing to rezone a portion of property on Coverdale Road bearing PID 00645754 from RA (Rural Area) to MD (Manufactured Dwelling) for the purpose of a manufactured dwelling community.
NEW BUSINESS
- Council passed a motion to continue the winter parking alert pilot program from December 1 to March 31 each year, during the hours of midnight to 7 a.m., and give direction to staff to start the process of changing the Traffic By-Law to implement the program permanently.
- Mayor LeBlanc appointed Nicholas Cormier to the board for Trans Aqua for a four-year term.
COUNCIL STATEMENTS & INQUIRIES
- Council received news that the province will not be releasing the assessment numbers for municipalities until after the provincial election is complete and a new cabinet is able to meet. This means that budget deliberations will be postponed until Council receives these numbers from the province.
- A reminder that the Town and RCMP are hosting a Public Safety Town Hall on Thursday, October 17 at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers. The meeting will provide residents with an opportunity to hear directly from the RCMP and ask questions as well. The meeting will be livestreamed on our website for anyone who cannot attend in person.
NEXT MEETING
Council meets next for External Budget Presentations on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 6 p.m. The Committee of the Whole Meeting is on Monday, October 28, 2024. The meetings will be live-streamed on our website, and the agenda for the meeting will be available the Thursday prior to the meeting on the Town of Riverview Council Meetings webpage.
