Councillor at Large Stephen Gouzoules Elected Deputy Mayor
RIVERVIEW (N.B.) – Council has elected Stephen M. Gouzoules, Councillor at Large, as Deputy Mayor, following a motion at the June 11 Regular Council Meeting.
The Deputy Mayor is called upon to represent the Mayor at public events when he cannot attend, and chair council meetings in the absence of the Mayor. Council elects a new deputy mayor every year.
Mayor Andrew J. LeBlanc welcomes Deputy Mayor Gouzoules into this role, who was elected following a local by-election to fill a vacant At Large position in November 2023. Born and raised in Riverview, it is this deeply-rooted connection that fuels his commitment to enhancing the quality of life in town. Mayor LeBlanc also thanks outgoing Deputy Mayor Sarah Murphy for her service over the last year.
Deputy Mayor Gouzoules will serve in this role until May 2025.
