Jeremy Thorne

Jeremy Thorne is serving his second term as Councillor for Ward 3 after being first elected in May 2016. Before running for office, he worked as an Animal Control Officer for 15 years.

A graduate of Riverview High School, Jeremy is a long-time resident who is passionate about his community. In his role on Council, he supports greater government transparency, fiscal responsibility, sustainable growth and cultural diversity. He also strongly advocates for mental health awareness and programs in Riverview, believing that greater support of mental health issues makes for a stronger community overall. As well, he cares deeply about public safety, policing, as well as family and youth services.

Jeremy enjoys taking advantage of Riverview’s outdoor spaces with his family. He also participates in the many community activities that Riverview has to offer, including Canada Day celebrations.

When he is not working on behalf of Ward 3 residents, Jeremy is a busy father to two children – Morgan and Finley. He also has many interests, including photography, hockey as well as collecting antiques and vintage goods.
